Krea AI is a web-based creative platform that started as a real-time image generation tool and has grown into a broader suite covering image, video, 3D, and upscaling. It combines its own models with a library of third-party ones, letting users move between styles and tasks without leaving the browser.

The current flagship is Krea 3, which became the default image model in the Krea app on October 16, 2026, replacing the previous-generation Krea 2 (released May 2026). A Krea 3 Ultra variant is available on Max plans and above. A Krea 3 API entered early access on October 15, 2026, available through sales, with pricing starting from $0.03 per image at 1K resolution. Krea had previously published open-weights versions of its prior model, Krea-2-Raw and Krea-2-Turbo, on Hugging Face under a custom license.

On top of the base models, the platform offers Generative Sliders for direct control over intensity, complexity, movement, and prompt creativity, LoRA training so users can teach it their own style or subject, and a Moodboard Gallery. It also covers text- and image-to-video generation using models from vendors such as Wan, AI upscaling with enhancers from vendors like Topaz, and 3D generation, along with a Krea Agent now included on every plan, plus an App Builder and Nodes Agent for building automated workflows.

Pricing is tiered and metered in compute units, with yearly billing discounted roughly 40% off monthly rates. The Free plan costs nothing and gives 100 units per day with no credit card required, with image concurrency of 1, LoRA training on up to 50 images, and upscaling capped at 2K; the plan is listed as including all image, video, and 3D/lipsync models and a commercial license, though a separate comparison table marks its video access as "Limited." Basic is $9 per month, or $5 per month billed yearly, with 5,000 units. Pro is $35 per month, or $21 per month billed yearly, with 20,000 units, image and video concurrency, and a commercial license. Max is $105 per month, or $63 per month billed yearly, with 60,000 units (adjustable up to 100,000), unlimited image concurrency, LoRA training on up to 2,000 images, and upscaling up to 22K. Business is $200 per month, or $160 per month billed yearly, with 80,000 units and up to 50 seats. Enterprise is custom-priced and adds custom compute allowances, audit logs, and SAML SSO.

The main limits are practical. Everything is metered in compute units, so heavy use of video, 3D, or upscaling can burn through an allowance quickly, and the free daily cap is modest with only limited video access. The number of models and controls also makes the interface busy for newcomers, and unlimited image concurrency plus higher LoRA limits require stepping up to the $105/month Max plan or above.

Krea suits people who want one place for image, video, 3D, and upscaling rather than separate tools, and who value fast iteration and fine-grained control. It is less suited to anyone who only needs occasional single images and would rather not think about a credit system, or who needs SSO without paying for the custom Enterprise tier.
