ElevenLabs is a voice-focused AI company best known for realistic text-to-speech and voice cloning. Beyond TTS it now spans audiobooks, music generation and voice agents, making it one of the more complete audio stacks available to developers and creators.
The current model is Eleven v3, which hit general availability in February 2026. Compared with the older Multilingual v2, v3 substantially expanded language coverage and added the Eleven v3 Conversational model built for voice agents, which can clone a voice from just a few seconds of audio. Around the same time the company launched ElevenMusic with a Music Marketplace for creator monetization, and ElevenReader, an audiobook product at $11/mo positioned against Audible.
Core capabilities include high-quality multilingual TTS, instant and professional voice cloning, real-time conversational agents, music generation and an API with its own subscription tiers for production use.
Pricing runs from Free ($0/mo, 10k credits, roughly 10 minutes of TTS, no commercial rights and required attribution) up through Starter ($6/mo, commercial rights and instant cloning), Creator ($22/mo, professional cloning and 192kbps, often promoted at $11 for the first month), Pro ($99/mo), Scale ($299/mo, 3 seats), Business ($990/mo, 10 seats) and custom Enterprise. Annual billing gives two months free.
The main limitations are credit-based usage that can run out quickly on higher-volume work, no commercial rights or required attribution on the free plan, and costs that climb fast once you need many hours of audio or several seats. Voice cloning also raises consent and misuse concerns you have to manage yourself.
ElevenLabs suits creators, studios and developers who need natural-sounding voices in many languages, teams building voice agents, and anyone producing audiobooks or narration at scale. The company reached roughly $500M ARR by April 2026 and raised a $500M Series D at an $11B valuation, with a secondary sale in July 2026 reportedly targeting around $22B.
