Adobe Firefly

Adobe Firefly is Adobe's generative AI platform, built into Creative Cloud and trained exclusively on licensed and owned content for commercial safety. It is used by 5M+ creative professionals for AI image generation, Generative Fill in Photoshop, vector recoloring in Illustrator, and scene composition across the Adobe application suite.

Adobe Creative Agent, launched April 2026, is the most significant advancement in Firefly's capabilities. Rather than requiring users to navigate individual AI features in separate Creative Cloud applications, Creative Agent accepts a single natural language prompt and orchestrates a workflow across multiple CC applications autonomously. A single instruction like "create a product campaign with a summer theme" can trigger image generation in Firefly, layout composition in Photoshop, color grading in Lightroom, and motion graphics in Premiere — with Creative Agent managing the handoffs between applications and assembling the output. This is a shift from AI features inside applications to an AI agent that operates across the entire Creative Cloud application suite.

Custom Models, in beta, allows organizations to fine-tune Firefly image generation models on their own brand assets, style guides, and visual identity. Once trained on proprietary brand images, the custom model generates new content that automatically aligns with brand guidelines without requiring detailed style prompting for each generation. This is directly valuable for marketing teams and agencies managing consistent visual identity across large content volumes.

Sound generation is a new Firefly capability that extends the platform beyond visual content. Users can generate sound effects, ambient audio, and short music segments from text descriptions. This adds a native audio creation layer to Firefly that reduces dependence on stock audio libraries for video and motion graphics workflows.
