Claude Design

Claude Design is a purpose-built AI design tool from Anthropic, launched on April 17, 2026 as a research preview under Anthropic Labs. It is a distinct product from general Claude — powered by Claude Opus 4.7 and specifically trained to generate polished visual output including presentations, one-pagers, slide decks, prototypes, and visual reports from natural language prompts.

On first run, Claude Design analyzes your codebase or design files to build a design system — extracting your brand colors, typography, and component patterns. Subsequent designs automatically conform to this system, producing consistent branded output without manual configuration. Exports are available as PDF, shareable URL, PPTX, or directly to Canva for further editing.

Key capabilities include conversational design iteration (ask for changes in plain language), presentation generation, interactive prototype creation, one-pager and report design, and automatic brand system detection. The tool understands design intent rather than requiring precise specifications — describe what you need and it produces a complete visual.

Pricing: Claude Design is included with Claude Pro at $20 per month, Claude Max at $100 and $200 per month, Team plans, and Enterprise. It is not available on the Free tier. There is no standalone pricing — access requires an active Claude subscription.

Limitations: As a research preview launched in April 2026, Claude Design is still maturing. Output quality can vary on complex multi-page layouts. It is not a replacement for professional design tools like Figma for UI/UX work — it excels at presentation and document design rather than interactive product design.

Best suited for professionals who need polished presentations, reports, and one-pagers quickly without opening a design tool — particularly those already using Claude Pro for other work.
