Framer is a browser-based website builder that pairs a visual design canvas with AI generation. Rather than only turning a text prompt into a landing page, it now lets you build, restyle, and wire up full responsive sites, publish them on Framer hosting, and manage content through a built-in CMS.
The current release, Framer 3.0 (June 16, 2026), was a major overhaul. It introduced Framer Agents for in-canvas AI co-editing through a new Agent tab, along with Branching, External Agents, a rebuilt Community, and a credit-based pricing model. The old Scale plan ($100/mo) was retired, leaving Free, Basic, Pro, and Enterprise tiers.
Agents can generate pages, turn a screenshot into a layout, build code components, restructure CMS collections, and translate content into 100+ languages. Every agent action consumes AI credits. You can pick advanced models in the editor, including Fable 5 (July 3, 2026) and Sonnet 5. Other AI surfaces include Workshop for component generation, the Framer MCP plugin for bringing your own LLM, AI Translate, Auto Rename, Wireframer, and a Claude & Codex beta.
Pricing runs from Free ($0/mo, 500 daily credits that don't roll over, 1 GB bandwidth, a free Framer domain, up to 3 editors) to Basic ($10/mo, 1,000 monthly credits, 50 GB bandwidth, 2 CMS collections, custom domain, built-in SEO) and Pro ($30/mo, 3,000 monthly credits, 100 GB bandwidth, 10 CMS collections, staging plus branching, unlimited editors). Enterprise is custom-priced with volume-discount credits, SSO/SCIM, and an uptime guarantee.
Since the May 2026 update, extra editor seats cost $20/mo (down from $40), a CMS-only Content Editor seat is $10/mo, and you can buy additional credit packs starting at 1,000 credits. The credit model means heavy AI use can add real cost on top of the base subscription.
Framer fits designers, marketers, and small teams who want a polished, hosted site with AI assistance and don't need a fully custom code stack. If you generate a lot of AI content or want predictable flat-rate costs, budget for credit consumption before committing.
