Lovable

Lovable lets you describe an app in everyday language and have it built for you, including the interface, logic, and a managed backend. It is aimed at founders, product people, and developers who want to go from idea to a deployable app without writing everything by hand.

The product has moved to a fully agentic, credit-based model rather than a versioned release cycle. Agent Mode (also called Build mode) is now the default and runs autonomously: it reads your codebase, searches the web, debugs, generates images, and validates its own output. Plan Mode arrived in February 2026 to let you preview intended changes before any code is written, an Agent Mode beta expansion landed in June 2026, and AI Subagents (Researcher, Reviewer, Synthesizer) shipped in May 2026 to run work in parallel.

On capabilities, the backend is now branded Lovable Cloud, a managed layer built on Supabase under the hood, with Lovable AI handling in-app AI features. You get database, auth, and hosting without wiring raw services yourself, plus code editing and custom domains on paid tiers.

Pricing is credit-based across both building and running apps. Free is $0/mo with 5 build credits per day (roughly 30/mo), 20 monthly Cloud credits, and limited in-app AI credits. Pro is $25/mo (about $21/mo billed annually, $250/yr) for 100 monthly credits, private projects, code editing, and custom domains, and scales up to much larger credit tiers. Business is $50/mo with the same 100-credit base plus SSO, data-training opt-out, per-user credit limits, and restricted projects. Enterprise is quote-based with audit logs and SLAs, reportedly around $500+/mo on annual commitment.

The main limitation is the credit model itself: because credits cover building, deployed-app runtime, and in-app AI, costs can be hard to predict on active projects, and the free tier runs out quickly. Autonomous generation is fast but still needs review, and heavy customization eventually pushes you into editing code.

Choose Lovable if you want an AI agent to do most of the building and you are comfortable steering it, and budget for credit consumption if your app is more than a prototype.
