Softr is a no-code platform for building web applications, client portals, internal tools and simple business software without writing code. You describe what you need or assemble it from prebuilt blocks, and Softr handles the hosting, user accounts and permissions.
On March 31, 2026 Softr relaunched as an AI-native platform. The headline change is the AI Co-Builder, which turns a plain-language description into a working app complete with a database, user interface, access rules and basic business logic. Earlier in 2026 the platform added multi-model AI support (Claude, GPT and Gemini), and in June 2026 it introduced AI-driven web scraping and search. Global Search across apps arrived in December 2025.
A notable capability is that each Softr app can now act as its own Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. That means assistants like Claude and ChatGPT can connect over OAuth and read or act on your app's data directly. Softr also has its own built-in Softr Databases with tiered record limits, so you are no longer tied to Airtable or Google Sheets, though those connections still work.
Pricing is subscription-based with monthly AI credits bundled into every plan. The Free tier is $0/mo (10 app users, 5 AI credits, roughly 1,000-5,000 records). Basic is $49/mo billed annually ($59 monthly) with 20 users and 10 credits. Professional is $139/mo annually ($167 monthly) for 100 users (add-on packs of 10 at $10/mo up to 250) and 50 credits. Business is $269/mo annually ($323 monthly) for 500 users and 100 credits. Enterprise is custom with SSO, advanced security and dedicated support. Extra AI credits run $10-$500/mo for 100-5,000 credits.
The trade-offs are real. AI credits are consumed by generation and AI features, so heavy use pushes you into add-ons or higher tiers quickly. Deep custom design and complex logic still hit the ceiling of a no-code tool, and pricing climbs steeply as your user count grows.
