Softr

Softr is a no-code platform for building web applications, client portals, internal tools and simple business software without writing code. You describe what you need or assemble it from prebuilt blocks, and Softr handles the hosting, user accounts and permissions.

Softr now positions itself as an AI platform for business apps. Its AI Co-Builder turns a plain-language description into a working app complete with a database, user interface, access rules and basic business logic. The company has also rolled out an MCP Platform, Workflow MCP and a Vibe Code Block MCP (all announced in September 2026), plus Softr Agents (announced in August 2026), which let Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools build and manage Softr apps directly, on every plan, without using AI credits. Earlier updates added multi-model AI support (Claude, GPT and Gemini), AI-driven web scraping and search, and a Global Search feature across apps.

Softr connects to a wide range of data sources, including Airtable, Google Sheets, Notion, Supabase, HubSpot and BigQuery, and it also has its own built-in Softr Databases, so you are no longer tied to a spreadsheet or Airtable base for storage.

Pricing is subscription-based with monthly AI credits bundled into every plan. Free costs $0/mo and includes 5 app users, 5 AI credits, up to 3 builders, 5,000 database records and 500 workflow actions per month, with unlimited apps, databases and workflows. Basic is $25/mo billed monthly, or $19/mo if billed annually ($228/year), with 10 AI credits, 1 builder (extra builders $5/mo each), 5 team and 5 client app users, 50,000 records and 2,500 workflow actions per month. Pro is $119/mo billed monthly, or $99/mo billed annually ($1,188/year), with 50 AI credits, 2 builders (extra $10/mo each), 10 team and 50 client app users, 500,000 records and 10,000 workflow actions per month. Business is $395/mo billed monthly, or $329/mo billed annually ($3,948/year), with 3 builders (extra $20/mo each), 30 team and 100 client app users, 1 million records and 25,000 workflow actions per month. Enterprise is custom and adds SSO, SCIM, audit logs and SLAs. Softr also offers a 50% discount for non-profits and education.

The trade-offs are real. AI credits are limited per plan, so heavy generation pushes you toward a higher tier. Builder seats beyond the included number cost extra on every paid plan. Deep custom design and complex logic still hit the ceiling of a no-code tool, and paying monthly rather than annually adds a significant premium at every tier.
