Fireflies.ai is a meeting-notetaker platform. Its bot joins your video calls, transcribes the conversation, and produces searchable notes, summaries and action items you can share with your team or push into other tools.
There is no public version number because Fireflies is a continuously updated SaaS. The biggest recent change is the move to a dynamic AI Credits model: advanced and AI-driven features now consume credits per query based on complexity, and each plan includes a fixed monthly credit pool. Alongside this, Fireflies added Voice Agents, AI Skills, Sales Assist, a Slack Assistant, CRM autofill and a Personal Assistant. The transcription and Q&A assistant is branded Fred / AskFred.
Core capabilities include automatic recording and transcription, AI summaries and topic tracking, keyword and speaker search across your meeting history, an AskFred assistant you can query about past calls, and integrations that autofill CRM fields or post to Slack. Creating your first Voice Agent grants a one-time 100-credit bonus valid for 14 days.
Pricing has four tiers. Free costs $0 and includes 20 AI credits per month; the live pricing page now lists 400 minutes of storage per team, though Fireflies own knowledge base still cites 800 minutes per seat, so the exact figure is currently inconsistent. Pro is $10/user/mo billed annually (or $18 monthly) with 8,000 minutes per seat and 20 credits. Business is $19/user/mo annual (or $29 monthly), unlimited storage and 30 credits, and is marked Most Popular. Enterprise is $39/user/mo annual only, unlimited storage, 50 credits, plus SSO, SCIM, HIPAA and audit logs. Add-on credit bundles run roughly $0.06 to $0.10 per credit.
The main limitation to understand is that advanced AI features are now metered: even paid plans get a modest monthly credit pool (20 to 50), so heavy AskFred, Voice Agent or automation use can require paid top-ups. The Free plan's storage number is currently ambiguous between Fireflies own pages.
Fireflies suits teams that run many meetings and want automatic notes, searchable transcripts and CRM/Slack automation, especially sales and customer-facing groups. If you only need occasional transcription, the credit caps and metering may feel restrictive.
