Fireflies.ai is a meeting-notetaker platform. Its bot joins your video calls, transcribes the conversation, and produces searchable notes, summaries and action items you can share with your team or push into other tools.

There is no public version number because Fireflies is a continuously updated SaaS. The platform runs on a dynamic AI Credits model, where advanced AI-driven features consume credits per query based on complexity, and each plan includes a fixed monthly credit pool. The newest addition, launched September 29, 2026, is Fireflies Talk: a system-wide dictation tool built into the Fireflies desktop app for Mac and Windows. Holding a shortcut key lets you dictate in any application, with the transcribed text appearing at the cursor. Talk supports 90+ languages, removes filler words, formats output for the target app, and can turn spoken names into Slack @mentions. Dictations are processed on-device and are not used for training.

Core capabilities include automatic recording and transcription, AI summaries and topic tracking, keyword and speaker search across your meeting history, an AskFred assistant you can query about past calls, integrations that autofill CRM fields or post to Slack, and the free, unlimited Fireflies Talk dictation feature available on every tier.

Pricing has four tiers. Free costs $0 forever and includes unlimited transcription (asterisked), limited AI summaries, 400 minutes of storage per team per month, 20 AI credits, and unlimited Fireflies Talk dictation. Pro is $10 per seat per month billed annually (or $18 per seat per month billed monthly), with 8,000 minutes of storage per seat and 20 AI credits. Business is $19 per seat per month billed annually (or $29 per seat per month billed monthly), with unlimited storage and 30 AI credits, and is marked Most Popular. Enterprise is $39 per seat per month, billed annually only, with unlimited storage, 50 AI credits, plus SSO, SCIM, HIPAA and audit logs.

The main limitation to understand is that advanced AI meeting features remain metered: even paid plans get a modest monthly credit pool (20 to 50), so heavy AskFred, Voice Agent or automation use can require additional credits. The lowest advertised prices also require annual billing, and Enterprise has no monthly option at all.

Fireflies suits teams that run many meetings and want automatic notes, searchable transcripts and CRM/Slack automation, especially sales and customer-facing groups, as well as anyone who wants a free system-wide dictation tool. If you only need occasional transcription, the free plan's storage cap and the credit metering on paid plans may feel restrictive.
